A 'land and launch' program to help Vietnam's rising agribusiness leaders to solve their most pressing challenges
Challenge
The agricultural industry in Vietnam is at an inflection point. Increasing pressures from climate and weather risk, market dynamics and unsustainable production methods are creating significant adverse environmental, financial, and social outcomes that negatively impact land and water resources, farmer livelihoods and consumer confidence.
Solution
Beanstalk partnered with Mekong Business Initiative (MBI) and the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA) - with support from AusAid, Vietnam's MOST, and CSIRO – to deliver the GRAFT Challenge Vietnam.
In a series of industry consultations, the team facilitated a 'challenge discovery' process with >20 industry leaders to define and prioritize shared challenges. A targeted campaign resulted in the selection of 9 cutting-edge, market-ready agtech innovators from 7 countries with the highest potential to solve them. The team supported these 'scale-ups' to benchmark their readiness for growth in Vietnam, to develop a clear go-to-market action plan, and to meaningfully engage commercial, technical, and strategic partners over the course of a 4-month bespoke program.
